Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. robot vacuum cleaners lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available and comes with a lot of extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
